    HU Honored to Serve as Co-Head of the Village at the Launch Ceremony of the Student Innovation Village.

    In order to connect networks of startup support centers at colleges, universities, and high schools, leverage each other’s strengths to collaborate in spreading, sharing, synergizing, and exchanging values for community service, enhance the role and influence of secondary school and university students in domestic and international forums, and contribute to the successful organization of the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival – Techfest 2023, the Student Innovation Village was established.

    Assessing the launch event of the Student Innovation Village, Mr. Tran Van Tung (former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology) stated that the establishment of this Village is highly appropriate and a well-considered decision.

    According to Mr. Tran Van Tung, the Ministry of Science and Technology places great emphasis on supporting and developing the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in universities and colleges. The Ministry, together with several science villages, is forming an Innovation Association. This organization aims to promote and strengthen Vietnam’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

    Regarding the operational plan of the Student Innovation Village, Mr. Hoang Dinh Thai – Co-Head of the Student Innovation Village – stated that the Village is sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Steering Committee of the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem – Techfest 2023, and supported by enterprises. The Village operates under a socialization model, utilizing resources from its networked community.

    “In the coming time, the Student Innovation Village aims to create value for students within the entrepreneurship ecosystem. At the same time, it will support and promote innovation in education, foster entrepreneurship within the student community, and encourage cooperation, sharing, and creativity,” Mr. Hoang Dinh Thai shared.

    At the ceremony, PhD Nguyen Van Tan – Head of The Faculty of Administration International Economics, Lac Hong University – Head of the Planning, Workshop, and Training Committee – Co-Head of the Student Innovation Village 2023 – also presented the Committee’s orientation: “Within the student population, there are diverse target groups; therefore, it is necessary to clearly define orientations to serve the appropriate target groups. Members of the Planning, Workshop, and Training Committee must be assigned responsibilities to provide training tailored to different groups.”

    Accordingly, the Committee will implement seven key activities in the near future: organizing the official launch ceremony of the 2023 Student Innovation Village members and announcing its activities; coordinating with the Invention Village and Innovative Enterprises to organize the seminar “Understanding the Market”; collaborating with the Invention Village, Innovative Enterprises, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade to hold the seminar “Promoting Product Commercialization” combined with an exhibition; coordinating with the Invention Village, Innovative Enterprises, the Beauty Care Village, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade to organize a seminar on healthcare and beauty technology, career opportunities for students, and scholarship awards; collaborating with the University of Economics and Finance to organize the seminar “The Role of Intellectual Property Rights and Intellectual Asset Management”; cooperating with the Department of Science and Technology of Dong Nai Province to organize Techfest Dong Nai; and organizing the seminar “Solutions to Promote the Startup Ecosystem in Educational Institutions” in conjunction with the Village’s launch.
