With only hours left before the Grand Final of “Student Trial 2026” officially takes place at the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Court, what are our “warriors” doing right now? Taking a break or rushing through piles of case files?

The answer: they are undergoing their final intensive training session, absorbing practical, decisive courtroom strategies from seasoned experts of Bao Quang Law Firm Co., Ltd.

The Accompaniment of Experts and Alumni

To ensure a highly professional and realistic public trial, the Board of Directors of Bao Quang Law Firm personally devoted time to provide professional guidance to the Top 3 teams.

The delegation included MBA., Lawyer Le Ba Quang – Director, and Lawyer Nguyen Thi Pha Le – Deputy Director of the firm.

Also joining were Nguyen Pham Anh Thu and Tran Tu Quyen, alumni of the Economic Law program (Cohort 22). Their presence carried special significance, as they are outstanding graduates recommended by the Faculty for internships and are now officially working at Bao Quang Law Firm—clear evidence of the strong and effective collaboration between the University and industry partners.

Shaping Professional Demeanor and Courtroom Presence

During the session, drawing from extensive practical experience, the legal experts provided sharp and detailed feedback to help teams significantly improve.

The first key focus was courtroom demeanor and professional presence. Students were reminded that before presenting any arguments, they must demonstrate the authority and dignity of the law through their appearance.

Common dress code mistakes were immediately corrected—for example, male students must not roll up their shirt sleeves while presenting in court, must button their cuffs properly, and wear ties in a formal manner.

In addition, posture, walking style, standing protocol when the Trial Panel enters, and maintaining confident and composed eye contact were carefully coached. A professional demeanor, as emphasized, is the first psychological advantage in courtroom advocacy.

Flexible Strategies for Each Procedural Role

Beyond outward appearance, the experts also provided in-depth guidance on behavioral strategies for each procedural role.

For members of the Trial Panel, students were advised to maintain composure and absolute objectivity. Questions must be concise, focused, and aimed at clarifying key facts, without being influenced by personal emotions or bias.

For litigating parties such as Plaintiffs and Defendants, students were guided to maintain appropriate demeanor and strictly adhere to the case file. In particular, they must learn how to identify and skillfully avoid “trap questions” from opposing sides in order to best protect their legal rights and interests.

The Art of “Setting Traps” Through Questioning for Lawyers

The most valuable highlight of the training session was the art of strategic questioning for students acting as lawyers.

Drawing from extensive courtroom experience, Lawyer Le Ba Quang and Lawyer Pha Le emphasized a golden rule: lawyers are not in court to argue loudly, but to use questions to corner their opponents.

Students were guided on how to effectively use closed-ended questions, forcing the opposing party to answer only “yes” or “no,” thereby controlling testimony and preventing evasive explanations.

Another key technique emphasized was to only ask questions for which the answer is already known, enabling lawyers to construct a logical sequence of questions that lead the opposing party to unintentionally admit facts favorable to their client.

Additionally, sharp listening skills were highlighted as essential—allowing lawyers to quickly detect contradictions in testimonies and use them to dismantle the opponent’s entire line of argument.

    Ready for the Final Showdown

Concluding the intensive training session with Bao Quang Law Firm, the Top 3 teams have undergone a remarkable transformation—becoming more professional, composed, and strategically sharp.

With these newly equipped “weapons,” the teams are ready to deliver a compelling, intense, and highly realistic courtroom battle.

Tomorrow morning, at the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Court, who will successfully apply these strategies to claim the championship title? Let’s wait and see.
