On April 14, 2026, in Beijing, China, Lac Hong University (LHU) and Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking an important milestone in LHU’s strategy to advance the internationalization of education.
Representing LHU at the signing ceremony were Associate Professor Lam Thanh Hien, Rector, and Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoang Oanh, Head of the Office of International Affairs. The LHU delegation was warmly received by the leadership of BFSU.
The MoU is the result of detailed discussions and negotiations that began on September 23, 2025. Establishing an official partnership with BFSU, one of China’s key universities under the national Project 985 and Project 211 initiatives and widely recognized as the “cradle of diplomats” in China - reaffirms LHU’s growing reputation and commitment to building partnerships with high-quality international institutions.
During the working session, leaders from both institutions agreed to expand collaboration in two core areas:
Student training and exchange: Both sides committed to increasing the number of exchange opportunities and extending the duration of exchange programs for students majoring in Chinese Language. This initiative will enable LHU students to gain practical experience, immerse themselves in Chinese culture, and study in a leading academic environment in Beijing.
Scientific research and digital transformation: The two universities will collaborate in sharing expertise in digital education and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching. They will also work together on research in translation and interpreting studies, the publication of academic monographs, and the organization of scholarly seminars featuring visiting experts.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Lam Thanh Hien emphasized “Partnering with a prestigious and long-established institution such as BFSU will not only enhance the quality of language training for LHU students but also open up new research directions in educational technology, enabling the University to keep pace with global trends”.
The successful visit and working session at BFSU are expected to create new momentum for both training and scientific research. The partnership also contributes to the development of high-quality human resources to meet the demands of an increasingly integrated global labor market.
