Lac Hong University climbs more than 500 places in Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, enters world’s 801–1000 band

Lac Hong University (LHU) has continued to strengthen its presence on the global higher education map after being ranked in the 801–1000 band among the world’s leading universities for sustainable development impact in the Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026. This is the third time LHU has participated in the ranking and also marks the university’s most significant progress to date. In its first year, LHU was placed in the 1001–1500 band, followed by the 1500+ band in the second year. In 2026, the university rose to the 801–1000 band, improving by more than 500 places compared with the previous year.

The result reflects LHU’s sustained efforts in implementing education, research, innovation and community engagement activities aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Seventeen Vietnamese universities participate in the ranking

In 2026, 17 Vietnamese higher education institutions participated in the Sustainability Impact Ratings, including the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, FPT University, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Duy Tan University, National Economics University, Phenikaa University, the University of Danang, Ton Duc Thang University, Van Lang University, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, Lac Hong University, Nam Can Tho University, Dong A University, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Phuong Dong University and Vietnamese-German University.

Among the Vietnamese universities participating in the ranking, LHU was among the institutions with the most notable improvement in 2026. The result demonstrates the university’s efforts to enhance training quality, promote applied research, expand international cooperation and advance sustainable development goals.

Strong performance in SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being

In the 2026 ranking, SDG 3 — Good Health and Well-being — remained one of LHU’s strongest areas, with the university placed in the 201–300 band globally. This was LHU’s highest-ranked SDG area, reflecting its positive contributions to health care activities, quality-of-life improvement, scientific research and community service programmes.

In addition to SDG 3, LHU also recorded positive results across several other sustainable development goals, including SDG 1 — No Poverty; SDG 4 — Quality Education; SDG 5 — Gender Equality; SDG 8 — Decent Work and Economic Growth; SDG 9 — Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; SDG 10 — Reduced Inequalities; SDG 11 — Sustainable Cities and Communities; SDG 12 — Responsible Consumption and Production; and SDG 17 — Partnerships for the Goals.

Among these, SDG 4 — Quality Education and SDG 17 — Partnerships for the Goals hold particular significance for the university’s development orientation. These areas are directly linked to improving training quality, expanding domestic and international cooperation, and strengthening connections with businesses, local communities and development partners.

Demonstrating the effectiveness of LHU 2.0 Strategy

LHU’s improvement of more than 500 places in the Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 demonstrates the effectiveness of the university’s LHU 2.0 Strategy, which aims to make LHU a leading application-oriented university in Vietnam and the region by 2045.

The LHU 2.0 Strategy is built on three pillars: developing students with international integration capacity, connecting the university with the community, and accompanying businesses. Based on these pillars, LHU promotes practice-oriented training, strengthens innovation, expands international cooperation and enhances its social impact.

The result reflects LHU’s efforts to improve training quality, promote applied research, expand business partnerships, support community development and advance the internationalisation of education. Its achievements in SDG 4 — Quality Education and SDG 17 — Partnerships for the Goals highlight the university’s direction in improving academic quality, expanding domestic and international cooperation, and strengthening links between the university, businesses, localities and development partners.

Notably, LHU’s strong performance in SDG 3 — Good Health and Well-being — further affirms the university’s role in human resource training, social service and contributions to sustainable development.

In the coming period, LHU will continue to implement its three pillars of Students 2.0, Community 2.0 and Business 2.0, linking training with practical needs, strengthening innovation, expanding its international cooperation network, transferring knowledge and enhancing the university’s social impact.

The Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 is an international assessment system measuring universities’ contributions to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It is regarded as an important indicator of the social responsibility and sustainable impact of higher education institutions on communities and society.
