    LHU presents a robot for stuff transport to Dong Nai General Hospital

    LHU on October 19 presented a robot for stuff transport to Dong Nai General Hospital. The event saw the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Rector of LHU, Mr. Tran Trong Duc - Lecturer of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics, and the robot team. On the side of Dong Nai General Hospital, there was the attendance of Specialist Level 2 Doctor Ngo Duc Tuan - Director, Specialist Level 2 Doctor Dang Ha Huu Phuoc - Deputy Director and representatives of the Deans and doctors.

    The robot has the function of transporting necessities, equipped with a camera and a direct microphone connection by Wi-Fi or 3G. The controller can remind or notify patients without close contact. It can transport 100kg of goods and necessities. In addition, it can disinfect infected areas, isolation and blockade reas with a capacity of about 20 liters of liquid. It is also made from highly durable, water-proof materials in accordance with industrial standards with a total manufacturing cost of about VND 60 million.

    Specialist Level 2 Doctor Ngo Duc Tuan - Director of Dong Nai General Hospital said "Currently, the Hospital has two inpatient areas to treat Covid patients, one for severe patients and one for patient treatment with an average of 60 inpatients.  Using this robot to transport medicine, food, medical equipment and some other items is extremely convenient and avoids the risk of infection. Since it is remotely controlled and fully automatic, it can help with remote medical examination and trainingIn addition, it helps reduce the cost of protective equipment, making medical staff feel secure and patients trust in clean and safe treatment environment. The transport robot also reduces the number of medical staff in quarantine areas and reduces tasks for them to do other jobs better.”

    LHU instructed specialists of Dong Nai General Hospital how to operate the robot

    "We hope this device will help us handle interactions. The functions of this robot can partly help us diagnose diseases and detect symptoms from afar. It is so useful, not only in preventing epidemics, but also in remote medical consultation, medical training, and medical examination in remote areas. As the leading hospital, we hope to be able to apply more from this new robot.”  Mr. Tuan added.

    The stuff transporting robot developed by LHU, aiming to join hands with the medical team and doctors of Dong Nai General Hospital in preventing the Covid-19 epidemic
