Dong Nai City: Aspiring for a breakthrough in the new era

Today, May 18, 2026, marks a historic milestone for the tradition-rich Southeastern region. The City Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Dong Nai City are solemnly holding the ceremony to announce the establishment of Dong Nai City.

Pursuant to the National Assembly's Resolution No. 30/2026/QH16, Dong Nai City was officially established on April 30, 2026, encompassing the entire natural area and population of the former Dong Nai Province, thereby becoming the country's seventh centrally-run city.

The announcement event on May 18, featuring a spectacular artistic program and a dazzling high-altitude fireworks display, is not only a source of immense pride for nearly five million residents, but also heralds a promising new chapter in urban governance and development models.

Dong Nai City – New Stature, New Success

Reflecting on its development journey, alongside industrialization, ranging from long-established industrial zones to modern ones (Amata, Loteco and Nhon Trach), the key factors have consistently been the development of a high-quality workforce and the mastery of FDI capital and modern technology. This strategic mindset has driven the development of local education.

Lac Hong University (1997) - Partnering in Workforce Development.

In response to the demand for a highly skilled workforce in the late 20th century, the Government signed the decision to establish Lac Hong University on September 24, 1997. As the first private multi-disciplinary university in Dong Nai, it opened up educational opportunities right in the local community for generations of students. Building upon this foundation, LHU continues to grow, pioneering standardization and international integration. The university has achieved national educational quality accreditation, with numerous programs meeting the standards of the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) and ABET standards for engineering and technology disciplines. Notably, LHU proudly serves as an official member of the Cintana Education Alliance, maintaining a strategic partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) - a leading U.S. institution for innovation - thereby opening doors for students to access global curricula and academic networks.
