On April 5, 2026, 2,350 candidates from Dong Nai province completed the first phase of the 2026 Competency Assessment Test organized by Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) at Test Cluster No. 43, hosted by LHU.
As one of 54 test clusters nationwide, LHU was assigned to organize three testing sites: Site 94 – Campus 2, Site 95 – Campus 5, and Site 96 – Lac Hong Bilingual Primary, Secondary and High School. The cluster attracted a large number of candidates from across the region, playing an important role in the organization of the examination in Dong Nai province. In addition, LHU will use the results of this exam as one of its admission methods, providing candidates with additional options for university entry.
From early morning, the atmosphere at all testing sites was orderly and well organized. Reception and guidance for candidates were carefully coordinated with the support of invigilators, supervisors, and teams of student volunteers. At the Campus 5 testing site, many candidates arrived early to settle in and prepare mentally for the exam. Student volunteer teams actively assisted both candidates and parents by providing directions and support, helping ensure smooth movement and participation throughout the examination process.
With experience in organizing large-scale examinations, LHU proactively developed a comprehensive plan covering facilities, personnel, and measures to ensure security and safety. All procedures, including test supervision, monitoring, collection of answer sheets, and handover, were conducted strictly in accordance with official regulations, ensuring fairness and transparency.
Sharing his experience after the exam, candidate Gia Huy said “I felt quite relaxed and relieved after finishing the test. The questions were manageable, and I’m fairly confident about my results. The testing conditions were also very good, the room was cool and comfortable even though it was quite hot outside, which helped me stay focused and complete the test as well as I could".
According to the standard structure, the exam consisted of 120 multiple-choice questions, to be completed in 150 minutes, and divided into three sections: language use; mathematics, logical thinking and data analysis; and problem solving. The maximum score is 1,200 points. The overall level of difficulty was considered stable compared with previous years, aligning with the goal of assessing candidates’ comprehensive competencies.
The exam results are expected to be announced on April 17, 2026. These results will be used for admission to member universities of VNU-HCM as well as many other higher education institutions across the country.
Organizing the examination for 2,350 candidates once again demonstrates LHU’s strong operational capacity, proactive planning, and sense of responsibility in national-level examinations. At the same time, it highlights the University’s role in supporting the education system and contributing to the identification and development of high-quality human resources for society.
