[FFA] Visit to Ajinomoto Bien Hoa Factory - A Meaningful and Exciting Real-life Experience

On the afternoon of September 29, 2023, students from class 22KT111, 22KT112 of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting at Lac Hong University embarked on an exciting field trip to the Ajinomoto Bien Hoa factory.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to observe real-life operations, acquire new knowledge, and gain practical experience about the production and organizational activities of the company. The event was attended by representatives from the Ajinomoto Bien Hoa factory, lecturers, and over 90 students from the Faculty of Finance and Accounting at Lac Hong University.

Before touring the production lines, a company representative provided an introduction to the company's history, development process, and the creator of Umami - Mr. Kikunae Ikeda. They explained the emergence of umami and the formation and growth of the Ajinomoto brand. With over 112 years of operation, Ajinomoto has now produced more than 1700 products, mainly categorized into three product lines: food, natural products, and pharmaceuticals. Ajinomoto operates in 120 factories across 130 countries and employs over 28,000 people worldwide, demonstrating the brand's significant global presence. The Ajinomoto Bien Hoa factory, established in 1991, is equipped with modern machinery and high production capacity, operating 24/7 to meet consumer demands. The production process of Ajinomoto seasoning powder is equally fascinating. Starting from raw materials such as sugar cane molasses and cornstarch, through the fermentation process, glutamic acid is obtained. This acid is then neutralized with soda to form sodium glutamate salt, filtered, and refined to produce the final seasoning powder product.

Next, the students visited the factory's production workshops, including the seasoning powder production line. They had the opportunity to witness how the production lines operate to better understand the manufacturing process of Ajinomoto products. The factory's machinery and equipment are modern, and the production lines are entirely automated to ensure product sterility and safety. Additionally, all products must meet ISO 9001 and HACCP standards.

After the factory tour, lecturers and students relaxed with mini-games, experienced being an Ajinomoto chef, and engaged in direct discussions about career opportunities at the company.

At the end of the practical visit to the Ajinomoto Bien Hoa factory, the students gained insights into the company's modern production processes, the professional working style of the factory's employees, and had a firsthand experience of the practical working environment at Ajinomoto to apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired at the university. This opportunity allowed the students to equip themselves with practical knowledge and enhance their ability to actively seek learning and exploration, starting from their university days.
